How do I order cremation Jewellery?
- Choose your special jewellery and purchase online
- Await your posting kit: I post these out by royal mail second class and can take up to 5 working days to reach you. They can take longer to reach you at Christmas.
- Once I receive your ashes/hair (I will email you once i receive them safely) your special jewellery can take between 3-5 weeks to make.
- I will then post your special jewellery back to you.
Do you take orders from abroad?
I have occasionally taken custom orders from other countries outside of the UK. Please send me an email for more information.
Who is responsible for paying import duties?
The Person receiving the shipment is legally obliged to pay Duty and VAT.
How many ashes do I need?
I ask for a teaspoon per item but I don't usually use this much. Any remainder is always posted back to you with your finished jewellery.
How do I send my ashes to you?
- Once you have placed your order I will send you out a posting kit for you to post your special ashes or hair to me.
- The kit contains a small sealable bag with your order details written on the back, instructions on the front of the bag and a self addressed envelope.
- If you are purchasing a ring and are unsure on your size, please select "A ring sizer is needed" from the ring size drop down menu.
- The posting kits are sent by second class post, unless fully tracked delivery is selected at checkout then I will post these first class.
- If you are happy to send your special ashes/hair without a posting kit please contact me before hand and i will not issue you with a posting kit.
How do you store my ashes or hair?
Your ashes/hair are stored in the posting kit in a sealed box until needed. I only ever concentrate on 1 order at a time so there is never a risk of cross contamination.
Will I get a certificate of authenticity with my order?
At the moment I do not issue a certificate of authenticity but I am working on a design for these and they will be available soon.
How are my ashes/hair set into my jewellery?
I use a high quality resin to set you special ashes/hair into your jewellery.
When and how will I receive my memorial Jewellery?
- All cremation jewellery is made in order of the date I receive your special ashes/hair.
- I do try to make your special jewellery within 7 working days but this does depend on how busy I am at the time I receive your ashes/hair. I do email you with a timescale once I receive them.
- Special delivery does not mean your order will be prioritised above other orders, it does mean that you will be able to completely track your jewellery through the Royal Mail website.
- I am happy to try and work to a specific date (whether a birthday or any other special date) but you will need to contact me before you order to confirm this.
How do I take care of my jewellery?
Although resin is a hard and glossy material it can react to heat and chemicals.
I do advise that you remove your jewellery when applying perfumes, lotions, shampoos, body washes and cleaning chemicals. Although resin is waterproof it can not be submerged in hot water for long periods of time and should be removed bathing, swimming, washing-up, etc.
Please store your jewellery out of direct sunlight as this can make the resin malleable. If this does happen allow jewellery to cool at room temperature before wearing it again.
Will my jewellery be hallmarked?
All my jewellery complies with the UK Assay Office Hallmarking Regulations. Jewellery does not need a hallmark if it is under a certain weight;
- Sterling silver under 7.78 grams
- Gold under 1 gram
- Platinum & Palladium under 0.5 grams
I am registred with the Birmingham assay office. If you would like an item of jewellery hallmarked that does weigh under the legal requirements I am happy to do this but there will be an additional cost.
